Greenstar Pro Review

Juicer.Kitchen Verdict

8.3 out of 10

The Greenstar Pro is an upgrade from the Greenstar Elite in the iconic 30-year-old Greenstar series, known for delivering high-quality nutrient-rich juice with very high yield. It features 100% stainless steel augers, a longer 15-year home warranty, commercial certification, and improved cooling and wiring. It was our preferred pick in the Greenstar series until the launch of the Greenstar 5, which offers upgraded parts at the same price, making it the better choice for most home users. The only advantage of the Pro over the latest Greenstar 5 is its built-in fan for better cooling.

The Pro is still a good fit for small shops needing NSF-certified equipment, allowing legal use in restaurants or juice bars. However, the 30-minute runtime means you’ll need to pause between sessions. Its slower speed also makes it less ideal for high-volume use. For high-volume cold press juicing, consider the Kuvings CS700. That said, for a small operation seeking high-quality cold press juice at a lower investment, the Greenstar Pro remains a solid choice.

Greenstar Pro Detailed Review

The Greenstar Pro is a long-standing high-end twin gear juicer manufactured in South Korean factory, known for building some of the world’s best juicers. It’s a tried-and-true machine that has been on the market for years, backed by strong warranty support.

Twin gear juicers like the Greenstar Pro are designed for maximizing nutrition, extracting juice from cell walls more effectively than other juicers. If your priority is health-focused, nutrient-rich green and root juices, this is a machine worth considering.

As a commercial-grade model, the “Pro” is NSF certified, making it legal to use in restaurants or juice bars.

Greenstar Pro vs. Elite

The Pro and the Elite share the similar housing, screen, and general design , and both have a 30-minute runtime before needing a rest. The key differences:

  • Auger material:Elite uses stainless steel with nylon; Pro uses 100% stainless steel gears, which are more hygienic and durable.
  • Certification: Pro is NSF certified for commercial use.
  • Cooling & wiring: Pro has improved airflow and upgraded electrical components.
  • Warranty: Elite offers 12 years, while Pro extends this to 15 years (home use).

The Pro was our preferred Greenstar model until the launch of the Greenstar 5. It delivers the same high yield and nutrient-rich juice as the Elite but with enhanced durability, hygienic gears, and a longer warranty.

For those on a tighter budget, the Elite remains a solid choice — you’ll get the same juice quality and yield, even if it lacks the Pro’s premium features.

Greenstar Pro vs. Greenstar 5

The Greenstar 5 builds on the Pro’s strengths with a sleeker design, a better-balanced handle for easier lifting, and improved gaskets that prevent juice and pulp from leaking onto the motor body—addressing a common issue in older models and making cleanup simpler.

Both the Pro and Greenstar 5 feature 100% stainless steel twin gears, the same motor power, and a 15-year home warranty. The Pro includes a built-in cooling fan, which the Greenstar 5 does not.

The Pro and Greenstar 5 are similarly priced, but for most home users, the Greenstar 5 is the top recommendation thanks to these convenience upgrades. The Pro remains the choice only if you specifically need a commercial-certified juicer.

What it Can Juice?

The Greenstar Pro excels with leafy greens and root vegetables. This heavy-duty machine effortlessly handles stringy, fibrous, and tough produce such as carrots, beets, celery, kale, wheatgrass, herbs, and ginger. Its jumbo twin gears ensure maximum yield and nutrient extraction from these challenging ingredients.

These machines are not designed for fruit-heavy juices. While they can handle some fruit—especially when mixed with fibrous vegetables or greens—they’re not ideal if your juice is 70% or more soft fruits. For predominantly fruit-based juices, a vertical auger juicer is a better choice.

Pro tip: Rotate your produce when juicing—start with leafy greens, add softer items like apples next, and finish with roots or fibrous vegetables. This helps keep pulp moving smoothly and ensures consistent extraction.

Prepping Produce / Usability

Greens are effortless to juice, automatically pulled in by the twin gears. Apples and other large produce require cutting into smaller pieces, and root vegetables need pushing. While this takes some strength, it’s normal for twin gear machines and allows for maximum yield and nutrient extraction.

Juice Quality, Yield and Taste

This is where the Greenstar Pro truly shines. Running at a low 110 RPM, its jumbo twin gears extract maximum nutrition by thoroughly breaking open cell walls and releasing pigments more efficiently. Built-in magnetic and bioceramic technology within the gears further helps pull additional minerals into the juice, according to Greenstar’s tests.

The result is a rich, full-bodied juice with noticeably deeper color and taste. The difference in juice quality compared to standard single-auger juicers is immediately apparent, especially when juicing leafy greens and root vegetables.

Assembly & Cleaning

The Greenstar Pro isn’t the easiest juicer to assemble or clean. Assembly involves lining up the twin gears, inserting the juicing screen, snapping on the housing, and finishing with the outlet knob and top cap. Cleaning typically takes 5–6 minutes, but the included dual brush and scraper make the process manageable.

This is the main drawback of Greenstar juicers compared to newer slow juicer designs and the primary reason I don’t use them for daily juicing. However, if your priority is maximum nutrition and yield, nothing else in this class comes close.

How good is Greenstar Pro for restaurants or Juice bar?

The Pro is NSF-certified for commercial use, making it legal for restaurants or juice bars. It comes with a 3-year commercial warranty, but with a 30-minute runtime, it’s not ideal for high-volume operations. For small shops or solo pop-ups, it’s a cost-effective way to produce high-quality juice, though machines like the Kuvings CS700 may be better for continuous commercial use.

Final words

The Greenstar Pro is a workhorse juicer that produces some of the most nutritious juice with high yield. It’s especially useful for small shops that require NSF certification but don’t run high volume. However, it’s not the most practical option today. If you’re on a tighter budget, go for the Greenstar Elite — same performance at a lower cost. If you want the very best Tribest has to offer, the Greenstar 5 is the clear winner with its easier cleaning, updated design, and longer warranty.

For most people, the Pro no longer makes sense — it’s a solid machine, but the Greenstar 5 has replaced it.
