We all know Masticating juicers keeps the enzymes in track, produce more tasty juice(less watery) and a better yield (especially with organic fruit being so costly) than centrifugal juicers. But masticating juicers generally have small diameter feed slot(requires everything to be cut up into small enough pieces) and you really have to “push” stuff along with the pusher .Unlike any other slow juicer in the world at this point – Kuvings whole slow juicer has 3” wide feed chute. It offers lot of convenience. Put whole apple, carrots, oranges, cucumber, beets in feed chute. No need to use knife except for leafy greens and celery. You will get quality juice with high yield and less oxidation in no time.
You can also make nut butters and frozen fruit sorbets by replacing screen with included blank plate.
Omega 8006 is newest horizontal single gear masticating juicer from omega. This juicer juices everything from wheat grass, leafy greens to fruits and vegetables. Not just juicing, it allows you to make baby food, nut butters, frozen desserts etc. Juice produced by 8006 is clear & pulp-free.
The best thing about 8006 is, it comes with 15 year warranty and bad thing is its small diameter feed slot. Hence you need to cut fruits & vegetables in small pieces before feeding it.
Hi,
Thanks for all the good reviews. I’m trying to decide between the Omega VRT350 HD and Green Star Elite GSE-5000 (I currently have a Breville centrifugal but planning on switching out). Budget is not an issue, but convenience is (preparation time, juicing time and cleaning time). I also juice about 30%-40% greens and the rest fruits and vegs. I juice once a day, sometimes twice. Which juicer would you recommend?
Also, which has a less pulpy juice without having to use a secondary strainer?
Thanks,
Sanjay
If convenience is your priority, go for Omega VRT350HD instead of Green Star Elite. Omega VRT350HD has wider feed tube.No cutting or earlier preparation is required with Omega VRT350HD. Also it is easier to clean than Green Star Elite.
Green Star Elite produce clear & pulp-free juice with higher yield. Check out juicer comparison chart for more info.
Thanks
I’ve read some good things about Hurom masticating juicers too. Have you compared the Omega and the Hurom?
Both Hurom vertical masticating juicer and Omega vrt350hd are manufactured in the SAME factory (DongAh Ind Co. Ltd), using many of the same parts in Korea. They are basically identical except for some minor differences. Omega vrt350hd comes with a 10 year warranty on the entire machine. On the other hand Hurom masticating juicer comes with 1 year warranty on the juicer and 10 years on the motor. For this reason, we strongly recommend the Omega VRT350HD instead of Hurom slow juicer. Hurom masticating juicer is better for travelling. It has a built in handle.
Can you recommend a masticating juicer that doesn’t use plastics for the auger or any other grinding/moving parts that are in direct contact with the food ?
Super angel 5500 is what you need. It’s a twin gear masticating juicer. It’s all stainless steel.
Thanks for the quick response.
Understanding that the Super Angel costs an arm and a leg, what are your thoughts on the risks of the cheaper masticating juicers (Omega, Hurom, Breville – though they’re all basically the same build and parts) with regard to the corrosion of the plastic parts? The fact that replacement parts are needed because of these part eroding over time means to me that the plastics are quite possibly getting into the juice and extracted pulp.
I don’t want to sound negative against these products as I was in serious consideration of purchasing the Omega 8006. However, as the juicer is primarily to provide juice for my kids, the thought of them ingesting small amounts of plastics over time is unnerving.
All juicing machines recommended by us including Omega 8006 use fda approved plastics safe for use with food contact. Juice remains in contact with auger for very small time. The benefits of juicing fresh fruits and vegetables is far away from minimal risk with very small contact time.
Hi, is the Omega 330HD the same as the 350HD?
Thanks for your help!
The only difference between vrt350hd and vrt330hd is color. 330hd is white in color, 350hd is black.
What is the difference between the Omega 8006 and the 8005 (besides price difference)? Would you recommend the 8005 if money is a major issue and we’re trying to get the best we can but on limited funds?
Omega 8006 is upgraded 8005 model. The main difference is the 15 year warranty and 8x times stronger Ultem Auger. The extra $$ gets you a 5 year longer warranty and a 8x stronger auger. We feel it is definitely worth it. If money is a major issue then go for Omega 8004 instead. Omega 8004 is exactly same as Omega 8006 except color. Omega 8004 is white, 8006 is chrome plated. Omega 8004 price is same as Omega 8005 plus you get 5 year longer warranty and a 8x stronger auger.
Omega 8006 and 8004 are identical save for color (white or chrome color) they are both a grade up from the 8003 which is same as 8005 except color and price. The auger in the 8004/8006 is 8times stronger. Hope that helps.
Hello.
I am currently using Breville centrifugal juicer and, it doesn’t juice greens the way I want.
There’s still a big chunks or leaves of green still left in waste bin after juicing.
I am comparing VRT350 HD and 8006 to buy. Which one is a better juicer for juicing greens like kale or wheatgrass?
Thanks so much,
If you want to juice mostly leafy greens then Omega 8006 would be better.
Omega vrt350hd is recommended for juicing a little of everything, hard veggies, fruits and leafy greens.
Thank you for your quick reply as I am trying to replace mine today!
I juice mostly leafy greens and add some fruits for taste.
I mostly use apple, pineapple, pear, papaya, and some hard veggies like carrots.
Would 8006 do the job fine? I am trying to find the happy medium. Thanks!
Yup! Omega 8006 is perfect for your needs
Hello – I’m a rookie looking for my first juicer/extractor. It looks like a masticating juicer is the better option. Can ALL fruits and veggies be juiced? Watermelon? Grapefruit? Broccoli? Sorry if this is a silly question!
Yup! All fruits, veggies, greens including Watermelon, Grapefruit, Broccoli can be juiced by a masticating juicer.
Need a juicer for my son who has Crohn’s. Cannot tolerate fiber but would like a juicer to extract juice only. Which juicer would you suggest?
Hey Gracie
Sorry to hear that. You should either go for Breville Juice Fountain Elite or Green Star Elite juicer. Breville Juice Fountain Elite is a centrifugal type of juicer and makes virtually pulp free juice. Green Star Elite is a twin gear masticating juicer and it makes juice with very little pulp.
I want to get a juicer for leafy greens fruits and vegetables. Please recommend the best one available in terms of pricing efficiency and warranty.
I would recommend you Green Star Elite juicer. It’s a twin gear masticating juicer. Check out juicer comparison chart to compare price, yield and warranty of juicing machines recommended by us.
I am new to juicing and I do NOT like pulp in my juice. What’s the best juicer?
Sorry for late reply Jennifer. I was busy with stuff. I would recommend you Green Star Elite or Breville juice Fountain Elite juicer. Both make pulp free juice. Check out juicer comparison chart for more info.
Hi,
I’m thinking about Omega 8006. Can it be used to make almond milk, also?
Thank you!!
Yes Omega 8006 can make almond nut milk. But almonds must be soaked overnight.
If I like fiber that comes from the Kale/spinach leaf and the Apple/ Blackberries and Broccoli/Carrot, does this mean I should only be using a blender and not a juicer?
Thank You,
Paul
Sorry for late reply Paul, Well it depends upon amount of fiber you like. You can either go with a blender or juicer that make pulpier juice.
Hi- Is the Omega VRT 330 still a good juicer or should I go with a different model? thanks
Omega vrt330 have Standard Juicing Screen whereas higher versions have 8x harder Heavy Duty Juicing Screen. Vrt330 is best for people who want to juice 1-2 times a week. Opt for higher version if you want to juice every day.
I was diagnosed with MS this past August an.I am only 39 and its changed my whole life. meds don’t seem to be helping. I want to find a juicer where I get the most nutrition possible but I don’t really like the pulp. I would rather have a clear juice. I am on disability so money is somewhat of an issue but I will save to get what is really needed to try and turn things around for myself. What do you suggest?
Hey Trenda
Sorry to hear that. You should look for a masticating juicer, since nutrition is your main concern. I would recommend you a horizontal style masticating juicer. Vertical slow juicers generally make pulpier juice compared to horizontal style slow juicers. Let me know about your budget, so I can help you further.
Hello. I enjoy juicing for weight loss. I felt a huge difference in my body and the way my body functioned when I was juicing. Right now I have a Jack LaLanne Power Juicer Express. I’m interested in a masticating juicer now because although I keep my juice in mason jars, I’ve read that juices made with masticating juicers retain their nutritional value longer. It’s way more convenient to make my juices at night than to try to rush to make them in the morning. Can you recommend a good masticating juicer that’s not too terribly expensive and possibly allows me to travel with it? Thank you in advance
omega 8006 is what I would recommend. It is fairly compact and light. It does not have any sharp parts so no problem when checking in.
Hi,
Please I want to get a very good juicer and I am particular about health and fitness. I read your recommendation for Omega but I am seeing a lot on omega:
NC800HDS; NC900HDS; J8007S; J8008C; J8006HDC
I am so confused and don’t know which to pick and buy? I need your help.
Thanks.
